Welcome To Tiverton Taekwondo
Tae kwon do is characterized by the extensive use of high standing and jump kicks as well as punches and is practiced for sport, self-defense, and spiritual development. Training in tae kwon do is carried out by learning individual techniques of kicking, punching, and blocking, which are practiced in combined series of techniques in traditional sets known as hyung. To the Korean people Tae Kwon Do is more than a mere use of skilled movements, it also implies a way of life.
Translated from Korean, Tae means to jump, kick or smash with the foot, Kwon means to punch, strike or smash with the hand and Do is art, method or way.My name is Karen Daniels and I am the joint instructor at the Tiverton Taekwondo club with my husband Ian. Together we have over 20 years experience in the art of Taekwondo and between us, have also studied Tai Chi, Karate and Kung Fu. All TAGB Taekwondo instructors are fully qualified and Enhanced CRB checked.
Our aim is to offer professional instruction in this dynamic, fast-paced Korean Martial Art in a friendly, fun, no-pressure environment.
Our classes are suitable for most ages between 4 and 74! The site is meant as a resource to allow existing students to check on the grading syllabus and the latest news and events. It also answers frequently asked questions for potential students.

As from Monday 7th January 2008 we have been training at our new headquarters. You will now find us training hard at the new Moorhayes Community Centre located just beside the Tesco Express store in Tiverton. The new Community Centre has a sprung heated floor and better over all facilities.
